FOUNDATIONS Children will create more complex algorithms. They will be reminded of the need for these to be specific and accurate.
Pupils will know that there are different programmes which serve the same purpose.
Technology allows us to express our views. Children learn the difference between the internet and the world wide web. They begin to learn to make their searches more effective.
Programming skills will be developed further as children learn about repetition, abstraction and decomposition. They will be encouraged to develop some independence when programming and begin to create simple games.
APPLICATIONS Children will use a word processing programme to produce content on The Rainforest and de-forestation.  They will learn to combine digital artifacts. They will learn to use more advanced features such as the spellchecker, find and replace, bullet points and headings.
Children will create music in line with their topic on Ancient Egypt.
Children will conduct searches on a database and create bar and pie charts to display results. They will answer questions on an online survey.
IMPLICATIONS  Pupils will be taught to think about online content. The power of social media versus edited content.
