School lunches
Newbold Church school has it's own fully equipped on-site kitchen where school lunches are freshly prepared each day. Menus rotate on a three-weekly basis and every day there is a hot main dish and hot vegetarian choice. Fresh salad and bread, as well as fruit or yoghurt are available daily. Please scroll down for the menu.
Currently, a school meal costs £3.25 unless your child is entitled to FSM (check your eligibility here) or is in EYFS, Year 1 or Year 2. School lunches can be paid for using School Money, please click here to find out how to pay using School Money.
Packed Lunches
Pupils bringing packed lunches should bring their lunch in a snack box or bag, clearly labelled with their name and class. We encourage our children to eat healthy and ask that you as a parent consider the following points when preparing a packed lunch for your child:
- Avoid sweets, chocolate and fizzy drinks in your child’s lunchbox
- Instead add something more healthy like a piece of fruit or a yoghurt
- Make sure that there is enough food to keep your child going throughout the day – a basic lunchbox structure could include a couple of sandwiches, some crisps, a healthy snack and a bottle of water or juice
- Vary the fillings in your child’s sandwich throughout the week to keep them interested and to make sure they want to eat their lunch
- Please ensure you are giving your child a healthy and balanced meal for their lunch – try to include a range of foods including fruit/veg, protein and carbs.
Due to serious allergies in school we ask that parents do not send children with any food where coconut is an ingredient.
