Baking 

Cooking and baking activities are a great fun experience for our children. 

These activities give the children knowledge about food, where it comes from and is also an opportunity to talk about what is healthy and unhealthy.

We practice skills such as spreading, slicing, mixing, chopping and peeling.  

Large construction 

Building takes precision, creativity and critical thinking as a child learns through their play and moderates or adds to their masterpiece. We provide a range of open-ended resources in our construction area which the children can stack, link, balance and create from. 

Den building 

Building dens enables children to develop and strengthen their creative skills, deciding on not only structure but appearance too. We offer a range of materials and tools to support their decision making and creative thinking. This activity enables children the space and time to create something individual to themselves and spark their imagination. Resources such as blankets, sheets, wooden pegs, boxes or ribbon can be used to create dens. Building activities support gross and fine motor skills, whilst developing good hand-eye coordination.

Homemade Musical Instruments : Shakers and Maracas

We made maracas using paper cups, masking tape, lentils and pasta. We were practicing how to attach two things together using tape.

We also made flags by taping straws onto paper using masking tape
